Security Surveillance, Low Light Observation Surveillance viewing over long distances will require high powered models that benefit from tripod mounting such as a 20x60 or 20x80. Professional users should consider dedicated observation models such as 22x100, 25x100 or a model with interchangeable eyepieces such as a 20/40x100. For low light work large objective lenses and BAK4 prisms are essential to maximise light gathering and transmission. A 20x80 with a tripod or low light designed models such as 8x56 or 9x63. Anti-UV coatings should be avoided for low light work. Some retailers claim the ruby coating seen on some models gives night working capabilities but the opposite is true.
