Recommendations By Use -
Astronomy, Night Sky Observation
Light gathering is essential for viewing the night sky, models with objectives lenses of 50mm minimum should be considered. A good quality 7x50 would be the most economical model or specifications designed for low light work such as 8x56 or 9x63.
Alternatively consider a high quality spotting scope. This will give much higher power and will require at least a 70mm objective lens.
Anti-UV coatings should be avoided for astronomy and night sky viewing. Some retailers claim the ruby coating seen on some models gives night working capabilities but the opposite is true.
